There are many ways to move information in and out of an Email Effects drawing. In general, anything that can be copied to the Clipboard can also be dragged out of the document to another window or program, and anything that can be pasted from the Clipboard can also be dragged into the document from another window or program. The drag and drop feature requires Macintosh Drag and Drop, included with System 7.5 or later. The receiving or sending program must also support this feature.
The following items can be copied to the clipboard, or dragged out of the document to another window or program :
窶｢ A selection made with the Select Tool will be copied as text.
窶｢ A selection made with the Picture Tool with be copied as a picture.
窶｢ Any text typed with the Text Tool or Big Text Tool will be copied as text.
The following items can be pasted from the clipboard, or dragged into the document from another window or program :
窶｢ Text. If the Text Tool or Big Text Tool is active, the text will go into the text or big text rectangle. If not, the Select Tool will be made active if it is not already, and the text will go into the selected rectangle. If the text is from inside Email Effects, it will be pasted in exactly as it was copied, otherwise it will be wrapped if necessary. If there is no selected rectangle, one will be created.
窶｢ Picture. The Picture Tool will be made active if it is not already, and the picture will be converted into a picture in the selected rectangle. If there is no selected rectangle, one will be created.
